- June, 2011: Emitech was awarded by the Phase II SBIR (Army) for the project titled "Portable Stand-off Detection of IEDs Based on Fluorescence Sensory Organics and Optical Microcavities."
- June, 2011: Dr. I. A. Levitsky, presented a talk titled “ Optical Gas Chemosensors Based on Nanostructured Organic-Inorganic Composites”, CMOS-Emerging Technologies, June 15-17, Whistler, Canada.

- January, 2011: Dr. I. A Levitsky signed an agreement with Springer Publishing Group to
publish the book “Photophysics of Carbon Nanotubes Interfaced with Organic and Inorganic Materials”, in 2012 with co-authors V. A Karachevtsev, W. B. Euler.
- January, 2011: The Department of State has determined that Emitech’s explosive detection technology is subject to the licensing jurisdiction of the Department of Commerce, not the Department of State.
